Bright,crisp,fairly clean,paper-covered card covers with the comic's name in white -outlined red capital letters to a black background,the remainder of the title in pale blue capital letters and colour pictorial artwork of 2 landscape colour cartoons of Topper character Figaro,a Mexican bandit.He is stood in front of a cactus with his 'WANTED' poster on it holding a sheriff/sheriff's deputy at gunpoint,whilst behind that cactus,another cowboy is lighting a large firework, unbenkownst to Figaro,for the first cartoon.The second cartoon shows the firework exploding,causing Figaro to jump straight into the arms of the sheriff/ deputy,all to the front board; a black spine/backstrip with red+white letters, rear board with a single colour cartoon illustration of Foxy,disguised as an ostrich and holding a club,trying to creep up behind another ostrich; with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing to edges and corners.Laminate wrinkling and cracking to both front+rear gutter's fold/crease allowing some dust to accumulate in some spots,where broken.A glued repair to top of spine with some minimal colour paper loss (approx. 2" in length) and miniscule rubbing and reciprocal paper loss to head+ foot of spine/backstrip's edge tips, corners tips minisculely rubbed and minimally but gently curled.Colour pictorial illustrated endpapers: Topper characters graffiting their own names to a wooden fence,whilst from a distance two policemen are approaching them,to the front endpapers,rear endpapers with same characters hastily removing the graffiti, under the disapproving eyes of the policemen.Top+fore-edges inevitably but slightly aged/toned; contents bright, tight,clean,solid and sound - no dog-ear readng creases to any pages' corners appears unread,apart from my own collation.UK,slim Qrto HB,no dw/dj - as issued,1st edn,92pp [unpaginated] includes colour pictorial comic strips/stories, colour double-page Top Ten dog breeds, colour double-page of birthstone,flower of the month and Zodiac sign information,and colour double-page of horned animals head's article. An uncommon but acceptable example of the penultimate annual (11th) of the 12 published. Some of the comic's cover's stalwart characters from the comic's inception until its cessation in 1990: Micky the Monkey, Nick Kelly, Beryl the Peril, Figaro, Sir Laughalot, Julius Cheese and Foxy,appear in this annual. 'THE TOPPER BOOK' was a child's comic book/annual published from 1954 - 1994,to tie-in with the children's comic 'The Topper',a UK comic published by D. C. Thomson & Co.,Ltd.,that ran from 7 February 1953 to 15 September 1990,when it merged with 'The Beezer'. The first twelve editions were undated, and later books were published with the date of the following year on the cover, since they were traditionally published in the autumn and in time for Christmas gifts. Originally called THE TOPPER BOOK with no year at the end of its title,the book was printed in landscape format as opposed to portrait format - the traditional vertical shaped formats like like the BEANO and DANDY annuals.It changed to portrait in 1960.Although 'THE TOPPER' merged with 'The BEEZER' in 1990,the annual continued for a few years afterwards.The 1994 annual,published in 1993,was the last one.
